This is a request for help. In Mike's pics from STIA he managed to get this photo. This seems to be a kit built engine and the instructions are in German.

Is anyones German (and eye sight) good enough to work out any of the words and if any of the information helps identify a maker.

Thanks for anyone's help.

I can use the zoom feature on IE7 to look closer, I'll type what I can fathom out here, and James (seeing as he does German at school) might be able to translate it

Tell me what it says. If I can't do it, I will ask my German German teacher

Thanks for the help guys. Yes Mike if you can send it to James and James, hopefully a teacher can help.

I think the first word is something like 'Instructions' or something like that....

Thanks Moose. Does that mean that we can assume this kit was produced by someone called "Sachsenmeister"?

Found this:

http://cgi.ebay.de/Sachsenmeister...Z008QQcategoryZ9143QQcmdZViewItem

Looks like "Sachsenmeister" is the brand.....means something like "Master Craftsman", don't know how to translate it properly. According to that auction it's a kit of parts that requires soldering and assembling.

Nice find Mooseman.
Do we have any idea how old it is?

What a great find. Thanks Moose. I'm going to print all that off. Another engine identified. Now I just need to wait for one to come up on ebay that I can bid on.

Tough call....from the printing I'd say fifties or sixties. Not many toys came out of Germany in the fourties for the obvious reasons, and before then they would probably have used Gothic script.
