ok. thanks for your tips.

btw- the engine's slide valve needed replacing in 2002 as the original wore down to almost nil!

im 90% sure that that is a Basset Lowke eclipse engine

i have a boat by Basset lowke called the streamliner from the 1920s that has a very very similar engine in it

th boat cost 50 shillings when it was origionally made and the engine about 9 shillings
