New built replica Lyd has finally been converted to coal firing instead of oil (which it performed rather appalingly with!) and the effect looks like it's great!

They should give her a new name so that she becomes a new member of the class and not just a copy of an existing loco.

She looks and sounds great. I am ashamed to say that I have never been on the Ffestiniog-or any of the Welsh narrow gauge lines-even though I live virtually "next door." Hope to rectify when I retire next year.

It'll stop the loco setting everywhere on fire when it's dry

Looks to be running really well.  I didn't realise she was oil fired to start with    I thought Lyd was a new name. Weren't the originals Lew, Taw and Exe?
