Ahh yes!
If you was me, would you attempt to make a Jensen meths burner for it? _________________ Forum Founder, Owner and Admin.

Ayup our Jimbo!
Very sweet runner there......I love the action on that, every bit as good as my #25.
My tuppence worth about the stop/starting - does the engine run equally fast in both directions? If not, the timing might be out. There's a guide to fixing that on the Jensen website:

YES James,
If I was regularly going to run a Jensen 75...I would make up a meths burner for it mostly for hotter fire, but also it's cheaper to feed and isn't quite as smelly as Esbit. I am about to do a little experiment with my Esbit fired Wilesco D455. I am going to run it using the Bowman M135 meths burner which fits quite well. I will film it and post a bit later.
I made a very functional burner for my Wormar Trojan (they were made by Bowman), using the smallest Mamod boiler made as a tank...cut it down and resoldered cap on a burner tank now 1" tall...then drilled hole in side, soldered in a brass burner tube, added a spent pistol shell to the end as a cap and reamed out the tube's top with a dremel cutting wheel...stuffed it with wicking insulation material. It turned out beautifully and works a treat.
Trick however is to put a fill plug in with a tiny hole in the center of the plug. I just relocated a mamod boiler pressure valve to the outer edge of the cap, soldered the center where pin WAS, then drilled a fine hole in the solder for vent. I plugged the center hole in the boiler end cap with a brass bolt, cut it off flush and soldered it from the inside for a tight seal.
Check my website under Bowman tab to see a pic of that burner set into the Wormar Trojan:
