Maybe I am getting my hopes up but there is a place in Macon that makes doors and other items down in the old industrial area. They have been there since 1882. I was just told today that about 2 years ago a good friend of mine saw a steam engine they used till the late 50s or early 60s. Definitely something I need to check out. Hopefully I will be able to get pictures of it if it is still there.

I wish. Never know maybe they would like some volunteers to restore it like the Georgia Steamers Assn.

You never know, they might be glad to get rid of it. They might pay you to take it away

Just talked to the shop foreman and it is still there! It is kept in a building out of the weather and was used till 1959. He said it is an old Allis Chalmers and he would be happy to show it to me.    Party  Dance!  Thumbs up!

Use some of that "Southern Gentleman Charm" to maybe get it running.
It would be great headquarters for the Ga. Steamers Assn.
Could also be the start of a great money pit for someone.

Any wife who can tolerates our eBay "toy" purchases could surely understand that.
