.....but full size Diesels! I know they're not everyone's cup of tea, but I have a great love for the ones that I grew up with when I were younger, and still love them now! (and also I thought it was the most relevant place to put the pictures!) So I thought I'd share a few pictures of some antics that I've been up to recently!



There has been a big increase recently in the use of Class 60's at the moment, mainly because DB have been exporting the Canadian made Class 66 locomotives abroad!

Yesterday I went out specially to see an Intercity 125 (or HST) go through the Hope Valley in the North of England. The reason being is that these days they don't often go down this route, and this train was going from Liverpool to London! This summer the HST will have been in service for 36 years, and after many modifications to keep the life of them going, (which even meant re-engining them from the original Paxman engines) are still going strong today as part of the core Intercity fleet for Britain!





And after that I had to quickly get back to Sheffield to make my way to Wakefield Kirkgate, to see a pair of Class 37's which I hadn't seen on the mainline for quite sometime now!







and it even had a Class 47 on the back as well! which was an added bonus!



I hope some of these pictures may be of interest to some people on here!

Trainspotting

Here it was leccies from the 50s forwards with few exceptions and then just about only shunters on diesel.

Well they are 1 of the longest surviving British loco classes with many preserved and a good few still on the mainline.

When I was little I remember seeing loads of Class 37's at the local yard, back then it was still very busy with two large active yards and if my memory is right a lot of Class 37's where stationed there.

Not any longer though its all gone now, demolished, the last steam shed ever built gone...

Some nice piccies of diesels. Steam is great but diesel (and leccy) locos are good. Pity not to see too many loco-hauled passenger trains at all these days. Not really keen on fixed formation trains like Pendolinos-just glorified multiple units-but will make an exceptione for the HST!

No we are next door. we are based in the old boiler shop. Unipart was formerly nrs and is still the national stores.

We do a lot of hst bogies. mk3 coach bogies for most major opperators and power car bogies for EMT.

I knew New bogies were being built for the MKIIIs and powercars but thought it were Wabtec that were doing those. If I'm not mistaken there's a whole XC set that's on New bogies!

not new bogies just overhauled. Its all routine maintainance. The only thing thats realy new is the electrical conduits on the power car bogies.
