Hello to you all
My name is Knut and I am living in Norway. I got my first steam engine for christmass in 1975 i think, it could have been 74. this was not a fancy machine but a simple small mamod. I still got it but it does not run, so I have to give it a good clean. I am in the very early stages of my engine collecting days, or shall i say years. So far it has become 3 Stirling engines and one vacum engine, one broken sholder and a resent surgery, so bear vith me folks, as i am dooing this words with the one hand aproach. I an not tottally dead steamvice, I have on order 1 Vulcan steam plant from Cotswold Heritage, ordered about 1 month ago, so it will not arrive in Norway for some time yet. I have also one Markie Road Locomotive in delivery in September. I also have other engines in que, but silly to write them heresince it is not until next year. In the mean time my goal is to collect verious engines from different manefacturers, I am not thinking about entering the used engine marked as I fear i will not be able to repair them as the deserves, but clean my old mamod I will do, and show you goys the running result (hopefully). this was a little about me, my past and my future. Thank you all for your time in reading this. .. one hand only _________________ Im Knut, the norwegian. I hope you all have a very nice day

Hi, Knut, and a friendly welcome from northern germany. Engineering, steamwise or stirling engine wise, is a very fascinating and addictive hobby. Whenever you´ve got a question ask merrily along and you´ll get all advice you want. There´s only one question that is totally dumb and that´s the one that never had been asked. Even myself got a lot of help and inspiration from these Guys and Girls that I built two steam critters for railway use from scratch allthough I am a guy with two left thumbs( - I thought that before starting- ).
cheers Joe _________________ "If manners maketh men as someone said , he´s the hero of the day " G. Sumner |
