As promised here is a lighter video of the PW203 running. I took it outside and hitched it up to the workshop.
It needs a better spring in the safety valve. Anyone know how to change them?
Strange effects with the frame rate, looks like it is hardly moving. It isn't going that quick due to the safety valve, but it is going quicker than it looks!

| A fine looking an sounding engine. Your rught about the s valve, the spring is retained by a threaded collar, have you tried to tighten it a little or failing that try a stronger spring? |

It looks as if the nut has been glued on or something. I tried gripping it in pliers but I was worried about damaging the valve. I don't know what to try to get the glue off (if it is glue). _________________ Chris

It is my first bowman, and my only stationary engine.
I am chuffed to nuts with it.
I was holding off from buying a stationary until something really grabbed me. _________________ Chris

Nice stuff Chris.
Frame rates do odd things in my vids too.
Love the steam too. Looks like it was cold there _________________

IVE JUST TAKEN MINE apart on my PW201 - the washer was perished.
I got it apart by clamping the base bolt in a vice and gently turning with pliers. Go a new sealering washer on ther now and cleaned the tread - much better. They are fragileso be careful! See my new thread on the PW201 in the sun! |

It's a good un Chris.
Sounds the way a steam engine should with a great chuff chuff sound.
I'll need to try mine sometime. _________________ Ouch! Where's the burn cream

Mine doesn't have a washer at all! Well there is one between the boiler and the safety valve, but the safety valve itself doesn't have one. I will try and get it apart at some point. _________________ Chris

Love it Chris! The steam venting from the safety valve makes the video better I think. _________________ Forum Founder, Owner and Admin.
