Hello

I have an Apple iMac and I use Firefox as browser.  Some videos I can not see. I ned a plug in says the browser but there are no plug ins availlable.
 Shooting

Anybody got an idea what I can do about that?

Klaus

If Apple is starting the microsoft game I may switch back to a PC. There are no advantages left with Apple.

I used Firefox for years, but after a major update a few years ago I encountered similar problems with Firefox on my PC. I switched to Chrome which is also faster than Firefox.

Klaus, is it a G5/PPC iMac? In that case, Macromedia no longer make a flash player for the computer. There is a hack which fixes that:

If it's an Intel Mac, then it's a case of downloading the latest flash plugin.

Adobe in their wisdom have decided that they don't support the older mac (g4/g5 ppc) anymore, so no more updates for the Flash Player. Unfortunately to play some embedded videos you need flash Player 11. There is a way of fooling your old Mac into thinking that it has Flash Player 11 installed, even if it really is only Flash Player 10. If anyone needs this hack, drop me a PM and I'll send you the plugin and installation instructions - it's 100% legal and safe.

It saved me a lot of money as I still have a few older Macs....the Mac count in our house currently stands at 7, none of them less than 4 years old.

Thank you Odilon.

The problem is solved!

   Happy

However! Who do they think they are?

I am used to the fact that one can use an Apple for ten years. I do not like the Microsoft like business conduct they begin to develop. Well. I will remember such incidents when I will need another computer.
