Sorry Bessy missed that bit. Shes knocking abit when in reverse. Think the timing is slightly out.
One of the pistons fell apart the other week. Nothing major though the nut had worked its way off the piston rod and the rod came away from the piston. The pistons are only PTFE in a brass block but they havnt worn at all in all the years. |

andysleigh has a Merlin/ Beck Midas. He told me he had problems with it, the wheels were slipping on the axles as they don't have grub srcews etc. He knows someone in his MES that is an expert on Merlin/Becks, it might be worth PMing Andy _________________ Si

Its based on the ex Clogher Valley loco that was sold to the County Donegal Railway and converted to diesel and named Pheonix
http://www.cdrrl.com/CDRPhoenix.htm
The blue loco behind is Mikes Roundhouse Millie "Harriet"
then its Russells green "Russell" and the loco at the very back is Russells Darj B class "Manega Khedhona"
See if any one can find out what it means. |

Thanks MTA. Correct me if im wrong but isnt the Midas an 0-4-0 Version of mine? Im sure mine started life as an 0-4-0 as Ive got a set of spokeless wheels around somewere and theres only 4 of them. as for the grub screws Ive never looked before but your right none there at all. |

Yep, the Midas is an 0-4-0. I saw it run a couple of times. Very silent and quite stately _________________ Si

I made an O scale model of an Atkinson Walker tractor, so basically Pheonix in standard gauge! A lot of card and wood went into the construction, and it still needs its cab finished. Side skirts hide the ridiculously huge wheels |
