Hello everyone!
I'm Brian from Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada and although I've had a passion for trains (diesels and steam) since as long as I can remember, my newfound passion for steam only developed within the last few years. I guess it all started when I saw a classified ad for Yesteryear Toys (distributors of Wilesco, Jensen, and Mamod steam models) in a copy of the Old Farmer's Almanac, and this led me to the Yesteryear website. From there, my natural curiosity led me to find out more about steam power itself on the Internet. I eventually stumbled upon various websites detailing several efforts to develop modern steam power for trains and cars. The one site that really gave me the "bug" so to speak was that of Australian Ted Pritchard and his Ford Falcon Steam car. His demonstration of the fact that the steam engine could still be developed further, really intrigued me.
But finally, what brought me to this forum, was when I rediscovered an old model stationary steam engine that my father had lying around for many years. He had received it from a friend of his who told him that it had been build at a local high school in Campbellton, northern New Brunswick (I grew up in that area, right across the border in the province of Québec). We don't know how hold the engine is, but my father thinks it's at least 50 years old, maybe more. I'm hoping that with the combined expertise of all the members of this forum, there's a chance I could get it running again. |

Hi Brian...welcome from Indiana, US.
There is a description of how to load photos into Photobucket in the Reference Library of this site, but here's a quick summary:
1) have your post (message like this one) open on the Mamod site and minimize it
2) open photobucket account and find the picture you want to post, beneath it click on the words: IMG code then click on "edit" in upper left (of browser) and click on "copy" option that appears under the edit menu.
3) maximize your Mamod posting
4) click on the word URL near top right of Mamod posting
5) place your curser after the spot where the word "URL" prints and go to top of page, click on edit, then click on paste
6) lastly click on the word "URL" again near top right of Mamod posting
your photobucket link will be sandwiched between and that is computer gibberish just saying start and end of link.
You can check and see if you did it right by scrolling down the Mamod page and click on PREVIEW...then you see how the message will look AND the photo should show up. If it looks OK hit SUBMIT.
You can do as many of the above sequence as you like in a Mamod posting...put 10 pics in if desired. It actually goes pretty fast after you get the hang of it.
Copy thIS above message and use it in printed form as a guide if that helps.
cheers,
