Hello all, as a teacher with a family we have only over the last few months found this great hobby of miniature steam.
One of the pupils at the school approached me telling me all about a site he had found on the internet, following this up with talking to Adam he came to our school and entertained us all for most of the morning with his collection of Mamods. He would not take any payment for this, we even tried to hand a cheque to his wife on the side but she told us that his reward was the children’s faces when he shows them running.
Following that my son wanted a engine so who better to ask than Adam, after a long talk we all concluded that a se3 was the right engine for us, he would not sell us one but told us where to find a cheep one.
The next day he came to our house and replaced washers o-rings etc oiled it up and gave David my son a short lesson on the do’s and don’ts .
By the way Adam lives 35 miles away
I found this website from a link on his site and can see that he posts on here, I know that this will embarrass him but finding someone with the enthusiasm and dedication that he brings to the steaming communities is a rear thing.

Speaking for myself, I'm not surprised at all. The help you have received is typical of the generosity of spirit that I have encountered ever since joining this great forum.
Nice one Adam. _________________ He who keeps his head while all about him are losing theirs, doesn't know how serious it is. |

It's really nice to see Adam getting the praise he deserves for the outstanding work he does promoting our hobby.
He will be embarrassed over this accolade because that is the unassuming person he is.
Well done to both Adam and Vanessa who helps to make it possible.
CMS, welcome to our forum. We hope you will enjoy it. (Once you get infected with the steam bug collections start to grow.) _________________ http://www.sandmansteamshack.co.uk/

Honestly Adam, you truly are a great bloke and what your doing for the Mamod name is better than anything myself or anyone else could do. You give up your weekends to go to the many rallies in your area to show off your collection to those who may never have heard of a Mamod, and have probably introduced many people into such a fascinating hobby. Your efforts go unnoticed and do not get the praise you truly deserve. I owe you a few pints |
