I love the SAV concept!

I don't want to hijack Giovanni's thread, but has anyone here ever had an engine that just didn't "click"? I had a D32EL for a couple of weeks, but even though it was of course a great engine, it just didn't do anything for me, so I sold it (actually went to Italy, come to think of it).

Agreed,

Today, have been to Papplewick Pumping Station in Nottingham, where I'm a member. It was 40's weekend, the best weekend of the year, the whole place is filled with 40's vehicles, army, navy and air force, Monty was seen this afternoon -

Anyway, point is, that this chap turned up at the museum with a 1890's steam driven 'Horseless Carrrage' a trully incredible machine. It was a twin cylinder horizontal engine, slung under the main carrage floor with a lower seat for the fireman, crude of build with solid tyres and wooden spoke wheels, it looked ramshakle to say the least, but it was brilliant!!!!

All the forties stuff was going off and there was a group of us gazingat this thing goggle eyed, it has been on the last 6 Brighton run's and will be going again this year in a couple of weeks -

What ever floats your boat - that's the thing

Hope this makes sense

H2o

Not yet, Odilon.
Plagued by the issue of space, I try to make sure I only get engines that I like to steam. I want my engines with a history of being used and I try to keep them in good condition and I hope I won't be the last to enjoy them being used.

Gionanni, On the lowest shelf in the last photo, what is the vertical twin just to the left of the Reeves Warrior?
