You could always rename her "Mary Celeste"
By the way, I wholeheartedly agree. Even in model railroading, I have problems trying to place people into the scene. You have a dynamic model populated by static figures ... creepy. It's just not right.
Now there have been a few situations posted on here where the man at the helm has some appropriate motion himself, and that is definitely better in my mind, but still not quite right somehow. The problem may just be with me though!?!?

That debate went on for years in model railroading circles. Pretty much got settled in the 50s and 60s thru the work of a modeler named John Allen. There are a few hold outs though, including a large O scale club in Atlanta that has beautiful model work with an eerie "Omega Man" feel about it, with all its quiet streets and empty sidewalks. Interestingly, they require all member locomotives be equipped with a fireman, engineer and, if correct for the model, brakeman figures. _________________ Presume not upon God’s patience.

I quite agree as you know Greg, but you've just posted 3 pictures with a little fellow standing on the deck
You are a sharp one Miles..He is a actually a cut-out from a scale sheet I have so you can place a scale person along side construction for reference.
There are a many a rivet-counter that will measure nonsensical things and beat you about the head and shoulders if something is "not true to scale"
I have a range of these fellows you can print and cut out so you can see if something "looks right" as well as "is right". Someone gave a a download of a single sheet with them all along side! Looks right trumps "is" many times in my book

Repainted deck color, aging and installing anchor chain, making and aging tow line for rope cradle and making are removable "gog line" that is used while towing. This will "bowse" down the towline and keep it centered . It is threaded into a center bollard I drilled at the tow line cradle aft.

After a protracted finish to steam plant testing ( waited for work travel to abate and then many weeks for the wrong site glass tube to arrive - only to be saved my Earlytimes.. Today's boat club Memorial Day regatta was a resounding success
I had conducted power plant tests prior- found one leak - which i thought was encouraging afte rthe extensive work- then managed to break off the oiler from the engine Grrrr
Then I fitted the power plant in place and did some basic displacement tests in the bath tub- weight and balance was Ok after I added about 7 pounds of brass and lead ...Fast forward to today
and With only a slight adjustment to the power plant base plate to tighten up the chain drive- all went well from the start
Here is the video reward after what was almost a year here in dry dock after receiving her from Moose so long ago
Plus I won best scale model at the event!!!
