Just out of interest, do any other Forum members own a SP6, apart from Les and myself? The SP6 rarely seems to surface anywhere-

I don't like the SP look with that silver firebox housing, but I do like the look of those SP6's, very nice.

Don't have one. There's a lot of second hand buyers here, and they don't really get sold that often.

Why is the steam inlet angled like that?

Did they come with a whistle or a gauge from factory?

It looks quite nice, although I like black fireboxes.

They come with neither, they are optional extras although my SP7 came with a gauge.

I was lucky, I got my SP6 as a Christmas present and my SP7 for my 50th birthday.

You forgot to mention that the SP7 is order only which renders it quite rare.

They are tempting choices both of them even if they have a bit much shine because they represent a new step techjnically for Mamod and the SP7 must be amongst the top of what is produced today.

I have a sp6, its lovely to watch at about 120 rpm on the tach. I have machined an adapter and fitted a pressure gauge. It also runs on a bix burner. Little short on power but still nice!!
