WORKSHOP WORKS
I am practicing on gas burners
and on ceramic gas burners: these were made for a very big and for a very tiny boiler
BOAT WORKS
VICTORIA
I have refurbished and completed the Victoria launch. former owner Logoman. At last she has a rudder, a complete propshaft: The steam plant is a Maxwell Hemmens oscillating plant, now fired with a gas burner, the fitting of which has involved a different way of holding the boiler: new engine fitted with a new pipework and lubricator.
ELLIOTT BAY
During the first pond test there was fire on board. The first gas burner had been successfully modified. Waiting for a nice cool winter day for a test...
NATALIE
I cannot remember when this launch works were started by myself and then abandoned, but a fair indication would be over 1/4 of a century. I decided to finish the launch which really deserves it. It comes from a German kit, very beautiful and complete. The hull is GRP. As you see it is not finished. During so many years I changes my mind about the steam plant a this one is now definitive. The steam plant is a Maxwell Hemmens Caton Engine and vertical multi-tubular boiler. Two water tanks are for the boiler feedwater. A smaller tank is under the boiler and collects the drainage from the separator (which I have made), which runs through the Hielscher Gas Tank as a gas heating device.
DER SEAKADETT
This is a long desired steam launch. It is fitted with an Anton "Jade" steam engine.
OTHER BOATS
LEFT A vintage solid hull boat to be steam powered
CENTER A 10 CHF banknote with the image Architect LE CORBUSIER
RIGHT A tiny TID TUG which I made when I was more young a patient
ENGINES AN BOILERS
ENGINES: ENGINES SHELF
BOILERS: BOILERS SHELF
A COUPLE OF INTERESTING ENGINES
A TWIN OSCILLATING ENGINE
A REEVES EMPEROR ENGINE W/REVERSING REAR
waiting to be refurbished. _________________ GIOVANNI

After last year I didn't think it could get any better but I was wrong. _________________ Les - Don't panic - it's your round next.

oh wow, my eyes popped out at all of those engines and boats.
I like the seat covers on the NATALIE that cover the equipment underneath. I'm not going to ask you to name all of those engines on the shelves as that would be cruel.
Very impressive and i don't think i've seen that many engines squeezed onto several shelves before. _________________ My Website:

You are such a humble and masterful builder and collector of all things MARINE. It is good to know that there are three Seakadett's among us ( Richard , yours and Miles')

Very nice work and an impressive collection. So many interesting engines in there!
They should keep you busy building steamboats for them for a very long time |

Whoa!
That is far beyond incredible, it is in fact most excellent!!
Your "Practice" on gas burners is true art!!!
Now I know why marine engines seem so scarce ... Giovanni has already collected a high percentage of the worlds total.
Thank you for sharing all your visual delights. _________________ Are we having fun yet?
