Can anyone tell me more about this engine and what price it sold for when it was in production by Historic Steam? When was the last one produced? How long was it in production?

I think they were made for somewhere around 5-8 years, maybe 10. Sorry I can't narrow it down further. I bought one in kit form for $2750 plus postage and sold it for the same unbuilt and then got another one slightly used but excellent and sold it for 2750 as During the first couple years they were asking more. Up near 4000-5000 for a factory built one. _________________ Steam on,

Thanks Gil. Yes, I saw Kusuchi's website and was impressed. I just paid a gentleman in England and he has just shipped me the kit. I wanted to buy only a kit and assemble it. When I finally saved enough money to buy it, I realized the manufactured stopped producing it - bummer! I place an an ad in steam-engines-for sale several months ago with lost hope. It was a miracle someone had a new kit and offered to sell it. The only issue is I hope that there are no missing parts in the kit. I really am looking forward to it. It is in ParcelForce mail now. This is my first steam engine kit - ever. Once, I get my kit, I shall post a time-line of my story. I don't want to get ahead of myself!

I finally picked up the boxes today. It was shipped on Thursday from England and got to me today - Tuesday. That was fast ! Sailed through customs without problems. The plexiglass case was intact. I shelled out $2900 for the whole thing including case, international shipping and insurance. I picked it up from the post office. The gentleman packed them very well. They were intact. I am going to do a parts check this weekend. I did a cursory exam of the boxes and all seems well. I shall upload a couple of pics for starters

Seems like it arrived in great shape. My best advice is take your time. The guys at the factory that did it for a living spent about 40 hours assembling one of these so don't be worried about spending 80-100 hours on it. Just be careful and you'll get it right!

I had trouble uploading from my MacBook using iPhoto. I had to manually downsize the files. These are set at about 100KB size. Let me know if the resolution is OK . If not, I shall try uploading a higher quality file. I do not know what the size limit of each file is for the forum. Any input would be great.
