A big Scottish welcome to the forum Chris.
I think you'll enjoy it here.
You'll find too that certain parts for older engines are in constant demand.
Things like Bowman oiler taps, oilers, caps, Cylinder covers, overflow plugs to name but a few.
If you can help out in any of these fields you may well have a lucrative little spare parts business right here. _________________ http://www.sandmansteamshack.co.uk/

we don't often get to see what the bits we sell get used for and the the pop pop looks cool
No i don't have a romulas its a Sweet pea but we made a few changes when we built it,the one we're building now is a 0-6-0 and we'll move the boiler over and then pull this one to bits regauge to 7/1/4 and maybe add a front pony truck.
Bowman bits
I'm hoping that the bowmen-owners will get there pencils and rulers out and send me some sketches/drawings and we can see what we can do _________________ Chris & co |

Chris, formal welcome and I have just recently taken closeup pics of a Bowman chimney cap, an oft lost piece. Pics have measurements in mm and inches (using caliper)...I will send you these pics in a PM (personal message within this system.
It would of course be better to work from the real items, but I think a guy skilled as you are bending metal can make a decent example from these dimensions...maybe make ONE and try it out with a member candidate...if it's right, make a bunch more.
cheers and welcome once again,
